Robin A. Barnes
Robin A. Barnes advises philanthropy, higher education, NGOs, and economic development organizations on strategies for positioning results-driven programming to attract partners and resources. She currently works with Bloomberg Philanthropies and Johns Hopkins University on economic and workforce development strategies in Baltimore, as well as with the Community Foundation Climate Collaborative on harnessing federal dollars for place-based, forward-thinking strategies to build local resilience. Robin wrote the chapter on small business and entrepreneurship for President Obama’s Hurricane Sandy Rebuilding Strategy and led the development of the Greater New Orleans Urban Water Plan.
Robin is on the faculty of Tulane University’s School of Professional Advancement, is a Director of the Sewerage & Water Board of New Orleans, and also serves as a Commissioner of the Louisiana Governor’s Advisory Commission on Coastal Protection, Restoration, and Conservation. A born and bred New Yorker, Robin has been living, working, and playing in New Orleans since 2006.
